Our Mission

 

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Pennsylvania and Southern West Virginia grants wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. We are proud to have served more than 12,500 children in 57 Pennsylvania and 23 West Virginia counties in our 28-year history.

More than 85% of all donations fund wish granting activities.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation held its Light Up A Child's Life holiday campaign in DuBois with Sunny 106 FM.  Punxsutawney Wish Assistant Polly Mills is pictured here interviewing a DuBois School District student during the campaign, which was held at the radio station.  The School District is one of the top fundaising school districts for the Foundation in Pennsylvania. Heather Kanai and another representative from One Oxford Centre, a campaign sponsor, got into the Christmas spirit during their Light Up A Child's Life appearance. Wish kid Evan sports a big grin when Sidney Crosby comes over to take a photo with him and his family at the Pittsburgh Penguins Annual Children's Charity Autograph Party on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at the CONSOL Energy Center.  Wish kids got to watch a practice and then have lunch with, get autographs from and take pictures with their favorite players. LET'S GO PENS! Would you like anything with your sweet tea? Forty trucks of all shapes and sizes drove into the Make-A-Wish Convoy and Car Show was held this year at Leighty's Flea Market in Newry, PA on September 10, 2011. Around 400 people attended.
